how did u even get a url like lies? were u on tumblr the minute it came into existence? gosh
I actually have no idea. It was the first one I tried, and was available. And I wasn’t particularly early; Tumblr was created in 2007, but I didn’t join until 2012.
Whoever had it before me must have deleted it, or had it forcibly taken away by the Tumblr gods, and I came along at just the right moment.
Or maybe it’s that from far beneath the mountains it felt the stirring of its master, and so left its former owner to enslave another, more apt to evil.
I’d like to think there was another force at work, a force for good, and that being taken up by a witless middle-aged purveyor of dad humor was something the URL did not intend. But I don’t actually know.
People used to ask me for it, but no one has for a long time now. I wonder why they stopped. I feel unchanged, but maybe they sense a malign influence, a darkening of my bloggish output, and it gives them pause. And honestly, it would be hard for me to give it up at this point. I find it growing on me…
