i’m going to be 27 in two months and that’s actually terrifying
I found 30 a terrifying prospect but strangely the actual event it didn’t freak me out nearly as much as my 25th birthday. I remember looking at myself in the mirror that morning and feeling shocked, realising I was no longer a *very* young woman and I thinking I’d made so little use of my quarter century of life. 50 is looking at me from just over 3 months away and I’m not sure how I feel about that. I can’t truly believe I’ve likely passed the halfway point (assuming natural life span) and don’t like to remember that Mum was only 61 when she died and Dad, 73. There is so much living I have yet to do… and on present performance I fear I will spend far too much of the time that remains procrastinating at my kitchen table.
