So I’ve been watching Jessica Jones, and it turns out that I was wrong to think I’d lost all interest in the Marvel universe. I’d just lost interest in boring, uninspired tellings.
It also reinforces my sense that a big part of what’s been bothering me about mainstream media is the pervasive sexism. Because as with MMFR, the explicit subversion of that viewpoint in JJ is like being able to breathe again after being held underwater.
