Hey! I saw your tags on that long post about age and fanfic; and I appreciated what you said a lot! I’m not sure if it’s what you were getting at with being seen as a different gender, but I get the feeling like it’s a lot of pressure to have to *be* a gender and I think that a lot of the time people think about themselves in a sort of gender neutral state. Like, even though I have genders, I don’t always have specific ones especially if i’m busy or whatever. idk these are random gender thoughts

I haven’t experienced being a woman, or been perceived and treated as one by people who treat women poorly, so I don’t want to equate my experience with that. But I think the small amount of gender-based discomfort I’ve felt as a man operating in a social context geared more toward women has helped me understand gender-related inequality and injustice at least a little more than I previously did.

I know gender is an issue you’ve dealt with in a far more significant way, and I appreciate being able to follow you and read your thoughts on the subject when you post them. And I appreciate your kind comment about what I was talking about in those tags (and that you took the time to read them).
