My piece for furyroadfanzine and the no text one, BECAUSE I SPENT A LOT OF TIME DRAWING ALL OF THEM
Just wanted to say two things: 1) This is gorgeous! 2) It’s lovely seeing Arkie Whiteley’s character here. I was watching The Road Warrior last week and thinking how tragic it was that she died so very young.
I’m thinking about submitting this to the furyroadfanzine but I just don’t know yet and time’s running
It would make a great poster imho but I’m too much into gradients and overly saturated colors lately and I have no clue if this is a good thing or not.
uh no please don’t tag so many people xD what if I’m wrong??

zoom in, exhibit 2:
et voilà
looks like our Ace??????
yeah I know it’s just a promotional image BUT I don’t think they would place Ace there without thinking
OH MY V8!
While in no way wishing to diminish anyone’s fun, I’m in the ambiguous-at-best camp on this being the Ace. He looks a little skinny to my eye.
Also, given that it’s a BTS still, not part of the finished movie, even if that was John Iles in costume as the Ace, it wouldn’t necessarily mean they intended to have him present at that point in the film. He could have been included as a background war boy, with the intention to remove/alter him in post in the unlikely event he was recognizable in the finished shot.
It’s interesting, though. What point in the film would this have been from? Can we place it in the movie’s chronology?
âIt was in the reign of George III that the aforesaid personages lived and quarreled; good or bad, handsome or ugly, rich or poor they are all equal now.â – Barry Lyndon (1975)
The final kiss? (yes please thank you very much) The “Gabriel I need you/don’t leave me” scene? Bathsheba on her horse riding about? (LOVE that). Basically, I will love anything, particularly if it is Bathsheba + Gabriel. :)
Hm. I see a few final-kiss gifs already out there in the wild. I assume you’ve seen those already. Is there a particular approach you’re looking for for that one?
Did I ever share this? I don’t think so. Correct me if I did.
One day, when we were shooting the second round of Lydia episodes, we thought we may have a little extra time, so I wrote out a rough draft of a weird PSA that we obviously never wound up shooting. At this point, fuck it, here you go, enjoy (or don’t).
“Full fathom five thy father lies;
Of his bones are coral made;
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange.
Sea-nymphs hourly ring his knell.”
– The Tempest by William Shakespeare; Ariel sings (via mirroir)
This movie is so historical romance stuff but it’s more like
Carey mulligan rejects men who keep offering her pianos because, well, she has a piano and she doesn’t need men.
