“Part of the purpose of the Doof Wagon is to sonically signal the War Boys as to what they should do next, per the Immortan’s orders.”

But how does Coma get those orders? He’s blind, and probably can’t hear shit over the sound of his own shredding. Does a War Boy in the cab climb up and yell at Coma every time they get a new signal from the Gigahorse?

You know, I think that’s what the ‘PattyCake’ Imperators were doing on the Immortan’s Gigahorse: giving the Coma Doof a beat and/or marching orders.

Maybe Coma senses the movement of the Doof Wagon, since that seems to stay up near Joe and he shreds his sweet riffs accordingly?

The imperator on the Gigahorse with Joe makes hand signals (and yells) in that scene where the war party is stopping/turning around because of the dust/tornado/lightning storm. I think in practical terms it makes the most sense that there’s a sighted person on the Doof Wagon who is relaying audible signals to Coma, as bonehandledknife was speculating.

But patty-cake imperators would be more fun.
