I’m supposed to be packing for a 2-week return to the East Coast right now, but I’m having trouble staying awake so I decided to do an end-of-year retrospective photo post instead. Pictured above is my 2013 in directing projects. If you squint you can see some creative growth in there, maybe, hopefully? I am prouder of projects pictured towards the bottom, so that’s a good sign. Pleased to be going into 2014 with Kissing in the Rain and Irene Lee, Girl Detective in post-production.
A warm shout out to my recurring creative partners Zack Wallnau (DP/editor, 1-3, 5, 6, 8-10), Jennifer Hwang (production design, 2-5, 8-10), Sean Persaud (actor, 2, 5, 8, 10), and Sinead Persaud (actress/writer, 2, 5, 6, 9), without whom these pretty pretty pictures would not exist. I’m lucky to be friends with such talented and wonderful people who’ve pushed me to grow with each project. Shout out also to the scores of friends who’ve let me invade their homes as locations, steal their belongings as props, and just generally enabled my filmmaking crazy over this past year. Looking forward to seeing what 2014 has in store for us all.
