I suspect this is more about people moving from R to D, leaving more ideologically pure Rs behind, than an actual change of views about creationism on the part of individual people.I think that’s probably true. The parties are becoming more ideologically uniform (though more so in the Republican Party than among Democrats). Another factor may be the politicization of science education. Conservative school boards and media have worked hard for several decades to undermine belief in evolution and science in general. I think we’re starting to see the results of that.
Agreed. And sad.
