Bird chillin’ on a Capybara. By Jose Soto.

Snowy egret ferryman rides capybara across the river styx.

Um you mean moose being ridden by…canada goose?

Well obviously if a bird is riding a moose, that bird must be a goose. Animals can only ride other animals they rhyme with. Duh.

A moose and a Canada goose
One day found themselves on the loose
But the grass was too high
And the goose couldn’t fly
So she rode on the back of the moose

(Now try writing a limerick with a capybara!)

I … algkhoagib!

Okay, challenge accepted.

  • A small capybara said “I
  • Was thinking I wish I could fly…”
  • But the snowy egret
  • Was sure not to regret
  • That the antlerless moose didn’t try.

llamapunk? anyone else?

I’m sure you could get something to rhyme with capybara. Okay read this in a British accent:

There once was a small capybara
Who found herself far from the water
With her friend the egret
They decided to set
Out in search of B. Cumberbatch, otter

Hrm. Terribly amusing but I’m not quite satisfied with the rhymes.

No British accent required:

Said the egret to the capybara
“Why don’t we travel by car-a?
For I can’t find the track”
“Just climb on my back,”
Said she, “It’s not very far-a.”

Ooh, yours is better than my second attempt.

Totally cheating and looking up words ending in *ara

There was an egret and capybara
Who liked their pasta carbonara
They voyaged, those two
From Timbuktu
All the way down to Guadelajara

Our friends the egret and capybara
Next stopped at the Desert Sahara
But the sand was too dry
So they decided to try
Their luck at the Falls Niagara

But then, the egret and capybara
Realized that they’d lost their tiara
Could it be in Peru?
Or stolen by an emu?
Why no, it got left in Ankara

Finally, the egret and capybara
Shed a tear, and dripped their mascara
They couldn’t but cry
When they said us goodbye
Adieu, farewell, and sayonara

The only thing I have to add is that I think you should all listen to the Limerick episode of Cabin Pressure in which they successfully rhyme Vshnny Volochyok. It’s epic.

Oh wait, here’s a transcript!

Very minor side note: pretty sure that’s a cattle egret, not a snowy egret. Basing that on bill color (snowy should be mostly dark) and foot color (snowy should be yellow).

Or possibly it’s a snow goose. I understand those sometimes occur within the range of the Canadian Short-tailed Beaverbara that it’s riding in.
