Usually I follow up a recommendation like that by asking, “well, is there a particular track or album you’d recommend?” Because sometimes I like some things by an artist but not others, and I want to avoid missing something good just by landing randomly in the wrong place when I go to check out the person’s music.
But the first several random things by Joanna Newsom that I listened to all sounded really good (and immediately good, with doesn’t always happen for me, even for music I eventually come to love). So I went ahead and bought Have One on Me, and I’m looking forward to going through her other albums soon.
