classic 6 metre yacht sunshine, built 1927 wm fife and sons, Scotland, I owned her in the 60s….
They probably rounded the windward mark only a short while before, and haven’t had time for a thorough cleanup, but in hindsight I bet they wished they’d pulled the sail out of the water before the shot was taken.
A tidy foredeck is a happy foredeck. Also, as anyone who’s raced knows, there’s a total “oh god” moment when you realize you’ve been dragging a sail or line in the water. It’s pretty much identical to realizing, hours after arriving at school, that your fly is open and people have been smirking at you all day.
