Maturity test

I’ve re-followed a couple of tumblr users I previously followed, then unfollowed, and in one case went as far as “ignoring”. I did this because I actually love what they write about LBD (because of how thoughtful and articulate it is), despite also sometimes hating it (because of how negative and personally abusive toward the show’s creators it can sometimes be).

Basically, both of these people were really good at putting me in “someone is wrong on the Internet!” mode. I don’t want to be that person, so actively avoiding their commentary was something I needed to do. I hope I’m now in a place where I don’t need that as much.

As the show nears its end I’ve been thinking more about the ways in which it has succeeded and failed, and I want to come to grips with the criticisms people have made of it, at least in terms of my own attitudes about those criticisms.

I’m not sure I want to engage by actually responding to criticisms. But I at least want to be exposed to them. Hopefully I can handle that in a mature manner. I’ll tag stuff “lbd criticism” if I actually post or reblog anything, so anyone who wants to follow me without seeing that can do so.
