HuffPo’s Craw on O’Reilly vs. Coburn

Ben Craw at the Huffington Post has some fun video of Bill 0’Reilly taking Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) to task for telling a town hall audience that they shouldn’t believe everything they hear on Fox News. In particular, Coburn told the town hall they shouldn’t believe it when Fox tells them that Obama wants to put them in jail for failing to buy health insurance. “We researched to find out if anybody on Fox News had ever said you’re going to jail if you don’t buy health insurance,” said O’Reilly. “Nobody’s ever said it.”

I bet you know where this is going. Roll the tape!

The level of irony here reaches the point of delicious when you have old Billy boy lying to his viewers about not being lied to on Fox.

O’Reilly is generally a self-promoting talking head who serves mainly as a info-tainment editorializer with a conservative/libertarian viewpoint. And he is particularly good at it, and in roping in people to watch his schtick. But then, so is the galaxy of cable news talking heads. Some are just less impactful than him or take an approach than is less flamboyant. He is the current king of his craft.

Information in moderate doses from these cable pundits is fine, as long as you know you’re getting fed a managed narrative. Anyone who gets the bulk of their news (and their political opinions) from any (and I mean ANY) of these cable knuckleheads is being played as a naive fool.

Wasn’t O’Reilly the guy who kept saying that Dr Tiller was a baby killer with blood on his hands? Then denied having any influence on the guy who murdered Dr Tiller in his church?

Who ya gonna believe, O’Reilly or your lying eyes?

So craig/malkin, how is the Very Big List of Liberal Violence, Murder and Mayhem going? Found anything in the last two years? How about the last ten? Anything?

If ‘both sides are just as bad’ (or whatever) then it should be super simple for you to put that together. Make sure you include verifiable links! thx!

He’s been asking Craig that question as long as he has been asking you, usually at the same time. Not really sure why you think he has given up on you, since he has been addressing both of you for some time now. Reading is hard, eh?
