I haven’t finished with the article — but I need to ask: Who the hell writes this stuff? more importantly, who the hell edits this stuff? Are there copy editors anymore? I’m not saying that I’m a brilliant writer or anything, but I also don’t write any columns. Here’s what I’m talking about:
This is the first mention of “Timoney”. He is not actually introduced until much later in the writing (after his last name is dropped three more times). He is actually Miami Chief Timoney. (no first name was ever given).
I’m not much of a grammar Nazi, but this is silly. But seriously — a high school jouranism student knows that they need to explain who someone is before quoting them.

In actually reading the article, that’s some pretty scary shit. I understand that police officers want to back each other up — it’s an alienating job, but the tactics that the officers used to show the interviewers down was downright frightening. I hope that the duty officers who used those tactics to intimidate the interviewers are severely disciplined.
