Oh, didn't get the memo, eh? This program is now referred to as the "Terrorist Survailence Program" and all the news organizations are falling in line by using this term.

Rumour has it, a fellow that Dick Cheney was hunting with questioned the legality of this program... so Dick shot the mofo in the face!

Is this true? ;-)

TRG, what court issued this opinion? Links, please.

I don't care about legal precedent, this level of domestic survelience is wrong. We need to be protected from an administration like the Bush administration. They cite decline in presidential power since the Nixon administration. Well, no shit Georgie. Presidental power was curtailed after the Nixon administration because Nixon abused his power. There was a reason, and regardless of your uncited source, I still think that we need protection from these guys -- they need oversight. FISA implemented a work-around, and allowed a warrant to be obtained after the search. This administration has decided that they don't want to follow those rules, because those rules are old. Aren't murder laws also old? Do those go away after 9/11 as well?

Bush isn't a legislator. He doesn't get to make or change laws. That's up to the congress. He's overstepping his boundaries. If he wants to declare martial law -- fine. That's his perogative...but this is not martial law, and is a clear violation of our constitutional rights.

In a 2002 opinion about the constitutionality of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) and the USA Patriot Act, the court wrote: "We take for granted that the President does have that authority and, assuming that is so, FISA could not encroach on the President's constitutional power."

PS>>> Just another week when Democrats get there ass handed to them..... Lets all applaud the courage of Democrats, Harry Reid, Nancy Pilosi and Hillary Clinton after three weeks of you broke the law now they started singing another tune. PLEASE don't stop the NSA easedropping program and if you need any help creating some more legal authority let us know what you need....
