Real Relationships with Real Dolls

Salon’s Meghan Laslocky has a story tailor-made for this site, about people having “relationships” with their Real Dolls: Just like a woman.

Thanks to J.A.Y.S.O.N. for the link.

Wow. I’ve often joked about getting a real doll, but Goth-boy Davecat’s relationship with his inanimate fuck-toy is just disturbing. Now all of my Real Doll jokes will be accomponied by the mental image of Goth Boy with his ‘girlfriend’…which takes the humor right out of it.

Doesn’t it serve as the pefect analogy for the U.S. media’s relationship with the current administration? They pretend he’s a real president, they report his (nauseatingly inarticulate) presidential addresses, and we watch him gesticulate from Marine 1. He’s the obtuse and impenetrable doll, and the media is the arse-nuzzling lonely guy. A relationship that is dysfunctional in its functionality.

You have to laugh about how even the occasional non-political posting on this site gets twisted by someone into an anti-Bush rant! John, if you posted a human interest fluff story of a hot dog vendor at a baseball park, I’m sure eventually someone would point out that the vendor was like Bush, eagerly selling something that really isn’t good for people (you know, fatty and full of leftover animal parts), but making it sound so tempting to eat. Wow, just like selling the country on the war in Iraq!!!

    Yeah….that’s the ticket!

I would have thought that there would be some reference connecting our president’s last name to the faux mound of pubic hair on the dolls.

    Oh well.

Uhhhhh huh-huh, his name is Bush, huh, huh-huh.
