Ebert Trashes Deuce Bigalow 2
Not that I had any interest at all in seeing the movie, but the following Roger Ebert review is not to be missed: Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo.

Wow…and my expectations for this movie were so high — oh wait, they weren’t. Let’s see, the first was B quality (at best, no offense intended to other B movies), and was sorta funny. With such a long history of horribly shitty screwball B comedy sequels (Police Academy, Caddyshack, Revenge of the Nerds, etc, etc, etc) would anyone expect anything different?
I think that a sequel to a semi-funny comedy is a studio’s way of saying that they don’t have any new ideas to offer, so they’ll capitalize on some old ideas (really old chatacters and old jokes) by paying their writers to micturate upon us for the 96 minutes they couldn’t come up with new, funny material. (Yes, I used the term micturate. I love the Big Lebowski.)
