for people wo hate registering with new sites, there is also an AP story on this, link care of the boston globe…

    http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2005/02/04/marine_general_says_its_fun_to_shoot_some_in_combat/

  2. Hoss Says:

and a nice summary of the whole she-bang from the ISN…

  3. Jen Says:

Mattis who thinks shooting Afghan People is FUN…he should be dishonorably discharged. That is disgusting to say about the People whose hopes need to rebuild in Afghanistan. It is very much the same as Taliban saying “It is fun to shoot up People merely because they disobeyed.” Does not make things any better on both sides anyways.

(rather embarrassing for Bush Administration especially when they already have Al Gaharib Prison Abuse Scandal).

  4. TeacherVet Says:

Isn’t George Bush personally responsible for any actions or commments made by everyone in the military? Surely he sanctioned the comments before they were made, and probably even put the words in the guy’s mouth. Surely the general’s comments could be used to justify physical removal of George Bush from the Oval Office!

  5. Patriot Says:

Yes, exactly TeacherVet – using the Left’s logic, Bush should be impeached every day if any federal employee so much as says, “Good morning.”

This guy is a marine, not a cop. If a cop said this, I’d agree he should be fired. But this guy’s a soldier. His job is to shoot people and break things. To shoot enemy people and break enemy things before enemies shoot friendly people and break friendly things. He’s saying he likes his job. Where is the problem here?

Many people enjoy waging war. That’s why shooters and real-time strategy video games like Command & Conquer are so popular.

This guy didn’t say “It’s fun to kill innocent civillians!” He’s a marine who said, “combat is fun.” Buisness as usual.

  6. Jen Says:

Surely the Pentagon knows about Mattis and his record being the Hard Core Killer. If you remove his Marine status, he would just be like a Murderer loose on the streets saying shooting the Rapist is Fun. The difference is that the Pentagon probably “knew” of his status since they bring up the Pschychological assessement every year. And the difference is that Bush puts in the Hard Core Killer Marine who does not feel anything is the same Man who ordered War in Afghanistan and Iraq. Bush is the last Man and President who has the “final say” in all of this. You could be right, but then again, you could be wrong. We just don’t know what the Pentagon knows about his “mental history” and if Bush knew of Mattis. That is the question. They would not put him in there if they don’t have to, but they “have to” if they want the job done. The only sad thing that Mattis did not get Bin Laden. Oh well……maybe next time~!

(History tells us people who likes to Kill and thinks its fun is more likely to rape Women- there was a study on this and proven the fact to be true from Criminals at the Prisons and I really, really hope Mattis did not do anything rash beside thinking killing Taliban is fun. He did not think of the consquences that the People he killed and thought it was fun might have Families and Children out there.)

And people were wondering on another thread why enlistment isn’t skyrocketing! Because people like YOU are constantly calling our brave heroic soldiers violent criminals! You should be ashamed of yourself! You’re worse than this marine is!

“The difference is that the Pentagon probably “knew” of his status since they bring up the Pschychological assessement every year. Huh? Right about what?

“We just don’t know what the Pentagon knows about his “mental history” and if Bush knew of Mattis. That is the question. I don’t think the guy is mentally unbalanced. He may have used a poor choice of words to describe some soldiers feelings during combat, but what does that have to do with his mental state?

“History tells us people who likes to Kill and thinks its fun is more likely to rape Women- there was a study on this and proven the fact to be true from Criminals at the Prisons and I really, really hope Mattis did not do anything rash beside thinking killing Taliban is fun. You’re constantly critizing the United States – where’s your critizism of the enemy, whose attrocities make the actions of a few idiots who don’t deserve their US military uniforms (from the abu grab incident) look like an episode of “Whose Line is it Anyway”!?

  8. Gunfighter Says:

Hey Jen, General Mattis also said the following:
“You go into Afghanistan, you got guys who slap women around for five years because they didn’t wear a veil. You know, guys like that ain’t got no manhood left anyway. So it’s a hell of a lot of fun to shoot them.”
Have you forgotten how women were being victimized under the Taliban? Let me remind you what the rules were under them:
·Women and girls are forbidden to go to school or work outside of the home.
·Women and girls may not leave their homes without a male relative.
·Women are forced to wear a head-to-toe covering called a “burqa” with only a small mesh opening through which to breathe and see.
·Women have been beaten and killed for not being properly covered or escorted.
·The windows of homes occupied by women must be painted to prevent women from being seen.
·Health care for Afghan women and girls is virtually non-existent since male doctors may not care for female patients.
·Women are forbidden from speaking in public.
·Pubescent girls and women are prohibited from speaking to males who are not close relatives.
Do these guys sound like good husbands and fathers? Jen, if women’s rights are important to you, it would seem that General Mattis is on your side, not a potential rapist.

  9. Patriot Says:

Excellent point, Gunfighter! Democrats used to CARE about stuff like that!

  10. TeacherVet Says:

It’s just another thinly-veiled example of bitterness at losing an election. It is easily recognized as such when statements must be taken completely out of context to make a pointless response. These poor, pitiful people actually choose to wallow in misery.

  11. Patriot Says:

I think mattis made a valid point when he said ‘people like that ain’t got no manhood left anyway.’ Which implies that a real man would be chivrilous; and protect women and children. The message of what a real man is is one that I think many American males (myself being one) need to hear. Like I heard some black preacher say on the radio once… I think it was Tony Evans… A real man isn’t one who just has the physiological capibility to get a girl pregnant but has the guts and the stamina to stick around to raise the baby.

  12. Rise Against Says:

Nobody said Bush should be removed for what Mattis said TeacherVet and Patriot, stop fabricating things and try to keep to the issue.

Point is, here you have a US marine on TV saying its fun to shoot arab people. Do you think that helps the marines that are over there trying to win the hearts and minds of these people? I mean come on, this isn’t rocket science here fellas.

It’s just another example of American arrogance and cockyness. The same reasons you got your ass kicked on 9/11 and the same reasons you are gwetting your ass kicked in Iraq. And yes, it is because of these reason that America will suffer an unprecented attack on its homeland in the future.

Do you two SHEEP have eveidence that the people Mattis killed were women abusers? Proof? Just asking becasue it seems like from the very begining of this Iraq situation its just been lie after lie after lie.

Remember here guys, we’re discussing your president on the webite ‘Lies.com’. Does that set off any triggers in your, umm, brains?

  13. TeacherVet Says:

General Mattis’ comments had nothing to do with Iraq. I figured that out by using my, umm, brain when reading Mattis’ comments.

…getting your ass kicked in Iraq.

Yes, we got our ass kicked on 9/11 in a cowardly kamikaze-style attack, with about 3,000 civilians murdered by your heroes. The recent battle for Al Fallujah is exemplary of the entire Iraq War. We killed at least 1,500 criminals who had held the populace hostage, while losing 38. Getting our ass kicked? Sorry, but your dreams have not come true in a single battle since 9/11. If that realization makes me an arrogant sheep, I carry the title proudly.

It must be tough to be handicapped with an inability to make a point without personal insults.

We had a killer terrorizing my family’s state this past week, and I would have enjoyed being part of a group to track him down and kill him. Which does that make me: arrogant, cocky, or evil?

  14. TeacherVet Says:

Rise Against, do you realize that the only point you emphasized with caps was the word “sheep.” Did you intend for that to be the primary point made in your post?

  15. TeacherVet Says:

Last post didn’t show up – hopefully I clicked the wrong button, so we don’t get a double post here.

Rise Against, speaking of fabricating and trying to keep to the issue, where did you find the Mattis quote, “It’s fun to shoot arab people“? If the facts support your position, why is it necessary to distort them?

In what way do you think such misquotes “help the marines that are over there trying to win the hearts and minds of these people? I mean come on, this isn’t rocket science here” fella.

  16. Patriot Says:

hey be nice TeacherVet – liberalism is a mental disorder.

“Nobody said Bush should be removed for what Mattis said TeacherVet and Patriot, stop fabricating things and try to keep to the issue.”
    Excuse me, we’re fabricating things?

How ’bout I post you a biiiigggg looooonnng list o’ links of fabricated stories that have no proof, but were just “brought up” here at lies.com!? You guys are down deep in the conspiracy theory abyss – we’re trying to demonstrate what an absurd idea it was to climb into it and try to help pull you back out.

  17. Patriot Says:

But I guess I shouldn’t bother. Just look at the 2005 archives so far. Bush seems to be linked to every evil thing in the world – but y’all refuse to call it evil in the first place so I dont see what the problem with that would be even if it were true.

  18. marinevet Says:

I’m a Marine and OIF vet and I see nothing wrong with his comment.
