Today from Drum’s Obsession with Bush’s Bulge

Craig says Kevin Drum admits that Bush isn’t wired with a hidden receiver to prompt him during ostensibly unprompted speaking opportunities (like debates). But Drum remains obsessively interested in the question of just what that thing is under Bush’s jacket: The Bush bulge.

Unless I’m totally confused, Kevin has altered his earlier entries to delete a reference he made about this whole farce, in which he said something like “I just don’t think there is anything to it”.

This whole thing is a very strange itch that some people can’t stop scratching. Oh how I yearn for the good old days when people obsessed over the fact the the war was mainly fought to provide cheap oil for the US and help grease the skids for Bush’s re-election!

Don’t know if y’all in yankeeland caught it, but on CNN here in Canada, when
Bush made a trip to France in the summer, there was an audio problem broadcast live. Essentially, you could hear clear as day someone answering journalists questions, followed about half a second later by Bush himself, word for word, repeating what this person was saying. Now, I could understand taking auditory prompts for a prewritten speech, but what I saw was live responses to journalists questions. It could be there is another explanation besides Bush was simply repeating what someone in his earpiece was telling him, but if there is a better one I’d like to hear it. It would not surprise me at all if the whole “bulge conspiracy” is actually right on the money. The only problem is freeminded liberals conscious of their own bias push the potential for the truth of a wired president from their minds so as to retain their belief in their own objectivity.
