Bush, Kerry, Thompson, GYWO, Iraq, and the F-word
You probably saw, or heard about, the interview with Rolling Stone where John Kerry said, “When I voted for the war, I voted for what I thought was best for the country. Did I expect Howard Dean to go off to the left and say, ‘I’m against everything?’ Sure. Did I expect George Bush to fuck it up as badly as he did? I don’t think anybody did.”
For what it’s worth, I actually thought Bush was going to fuck things up pretty badly in Iraq, and I bet I could find at least a few dozen others who were on the record with similarly dire predictions. But the cool thing about the statement is the way it (aptly) assumes that everyone knows that Bush has, in fact, fucked things up.
The followup, in which Andrew Card, Bush’s chief of staff, complained about Kerry’s use of such foul language, was pretty interesting. Especially given that Bush, a year or so before the onset of war, interrupted a national security briefing with Condoleeza Rice and a group of senators to say, “Fuck Saddam. We’re talking him out.”

I could ramble on all day about the pro’s of the Bush White House, and the cons of the Kerry campaign, but let me sum up with this thought…
The first President I remember in my mind’s eye being in the White House was Carter.
Every president, or candidate offered up by the Democratic Party has done little or nothing to forward the interests of the American people since the early 70’s. Not because they were evil or had secret agendas, but because their belief system is fundementaly flawed.
On the other hand, every Republican president or candidate has made major changes happen to the benefit of the American people. Regan obviously is at the top of the pack, not just recently, but I beleive his legacy will continue on to show him as one of the greatest political figures in our country’s history.
W is no different. How much more can a president acomplish in a four year span?
You people all need to wake up and realize the real choice you will be faced with when you venture into the voting booth…
…Do you want a president who will talk, debate, and ponder important desicions- involving other countries to help make the desicion, whose best interests are not our own…
…Or do you want a president who WILL ACT, keeping only OUR country’s interest foremost in his mind?

You morons have the nerve to compare Iraq to Japan… Japan attacked us (it was this little thing called Pearl Harbor… I guess you haven’t heard of it)… anyway, did Iraq attack us?? ok i dont understand why everybody is hating Bush? I think he is a great president. Isn’t he just trying to make things better?! I mean we caught the bad guy and now Iraq is going to get better, isn’t that what matters? And another thing, I heard somebody say that it is Bush’s fault that american soldiers are dying in the war and that those soldiers didn’t have to die and stuff like that. Well isn’t that what soldiers are for. Arn’t soldiers supposed to protect and defend our country? Just think about it, if we didn’t go to war and what would have happend? Suddam would have kicked our asses thats what!!! i agree with what somebody said up there that the reason everybody is talking shit about america is because they are scared! Yes, soldiers die. I only want to make the point that no one should die for no reason. Not everyone shot down wearing a uniform died for a good reason. Ask a Vietnam Veteran about that before you cold-bloodedly advocate any deaths. And if it is something you feel so strongly about, then sign up as soon in 7 years, when you’re old enough. You could take the place of one of the soldiers. I have some bars you can wear, for good luck. Some things never change.
Fear is not the wonderful thing that some of the bleaters around here seem to think it is. Random example: France, monarch rules thru fear. I don’t really like Kerry. I certainly don’t trust him. However, I do trust Dubya, and that’s my problem. I know exactly what he’s about. The only problem is that everything he believes in is sickening to me, and I know he is a danger to what I value in this nation. So my choice is made. And, by the way, what’s with the Canadian-bashing I saw a little earlier? Has the shmuck that posted that actually been to Canada, or met any Canadians? Good country, good people. We could stand to model our own after it, in many ways.

There are a few things liberals fail to realize:
1. The Iraqi People are better off now than they were under Saddam Hussein.
2. American Soldiers are saving the lives of the innocent.
3. The economy is recovering.
4. Peace and Diplomacy don’t work (See Iran Hostage Crisis under (D) Jimmy Carter).
5. The US Military is under equipped because of 8 years of the Clinton administration (F-22 and Comanche Helicopter were due out before G.W. even became President), and the CIA lost Human Intelligence assets due to Clinton’s policy.
6. We will never be safe in the world as it is today, not as long as we stand up for freedom-other people hate that.
7. Iraqi Soverignty, they have control, and elections coming up, their government wants us there. Also, look how long it took for us to return soverignty the last time we were at war.
8. John Kerry was one of the worst choices for candidates. He is a liberal. Bush is a moderate, and is actually able to reach out to undecided voters.
9. People who are voting for one candidate because they hate another generally fail to come out on election day.
10. Last Electoral Vote estimate counts Bush 321, Kerry 217 or something like that-including Bush winning MO-went to the winner in all but one presidential election last century.
