Balance the CA State Budget in Your Spare Time
A friend of mine pointed out recordnet.com which is currently featuring The Governor’s Game … “Sit in the Governor’s Chair & Balance the State Budget.” I haven’t played with it long enough to confirm that it’s possible to “win” (No matter what budget i started with, any changes I made invariable cost me votes) but it’s definitely ammusing.

I am I missing something here on the State budget?
Seems like if the state is 10% short the total state expenses should take a full 10% cut. Everyone collecting state benefits, contractors, retirement accounts etc! If that’s a problem cancel the contracts and give it to someone who will work for the reduced amount. Thats what I have do at my house and it works! Too simple for the state I am sure.
