U.S. Army Resurrects William Wallace to Lead Gulf War II Ground Assault

Ever the canny manipulators of public opinion, the U.S. war-planning apparatus has found a suitably named general to lead the assault on Iraq: Lieutenant General William Wallace. As recounted in a news report from the New Zealand Herald, Wallace would likely lead the ground attack in a future US/Iraq war. Which conjures up all sorts of wacky mental images. Like, General Wallace, his face streaked with blue paint, exhorting the grunts with stirring phrases like, “You have come here today as not-quite-free men, and not-quite-free men you are. What will you do with that not-quite-freedom?” Or maybe, “…and dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our freedom, but they’ll never take… our oil! Mobil!! Exxon!!”

    You moron. This war is most definitely not about oil. Saddam has already set up explosives in his oil fields that he’ll no doubt set off as soon as he’s backed into a corner. This is just the viewpoint that you anti-american pussies take for your own secret agenda. What do you really want jbc? Legalized Marijuwana, kiddie porn, partial birth abortions? Make a logical arguement and e-mail it to me if you can because I’m willing to listen as soon as you clean the shit out of your own ears.

    For “Braveheart” (I’m still laughing over that oxymoron) if this is about “freeing the Iraqi people” explain why this went from a one month war to a long one. The “coalition of the willing” is surprised that the Iraqi resistance is so strong. Not only that but some of those countries listed as backing the U.S. never backed this campaign. The administration took expressions of support after 9-11 and turned them into backing for this campaign against Iraq.

    If this is a humanitarian mission why did we walk out of the conference to address humanitarian concerns throughout the world, including ending the atrocities that were occurring under Sadam’s regime. Or maybe you’re smart enough to know that’s not our purpose…it’s a geo-political strategic one which INCLUDES getting control of the oil.

    If you don’t believe that, well Mr. Braveheart, there’s a Brooklyn Bridge just waiting for your cash. I’ve sent you a private e-mail which addresses your supercilious attitude. You probably think Brown & Root is a beer….

    This isn’t about oil, this isn’t about idelology, this is a religious war. We’re in Iraq, with General William Wallace leading the first ground assaults, to prevent a 9-11 x 100 event from ever happening. This war is about safety and insurance. Any schmuck who tells you otherwise is probably not a college graduate, a military veteran and/or history savy. People who minimilize the war to key or catch phrases–No War for Oil–have a fast-food, :30 sec advertising mentality. But the best thing is … these same types hardly ever feel it worth their time to go out and vote. So, never mind the pesky little nats that buzz around your ears. The coaltion foreces will succeed, Saddam will die (if not already), and a democratic society will bloom from the stark desert that was the cradle of civilization….

    We question the very simplistic rationale of George W. Bush and his cohorts for their illegal war on Iraq.

    Time and again we hear spoken the need to rid the world of evil. This iniquitous “Axis of Evil” has a quite obvious adverse relationship with the “Axis of Good,” and therefore, under the Bush rationale of good versus evil, those who are aligned within the Axis of Evil are a threat to those who comprise the Axis of good. Hence, Iraq, being cast within his Axis of Evil, is a threat to the West who of course he believes must be good.

    But no doubt Iraqis (and other Arabs) see things the other way around and believe that it is the West who by giving unconditional support to Israel as it steals more and more Palestinians land and by our continuing illegal and bloody occupation of Iraq that it is we, not they who are evil.

    This is no doubt reinforced by Pro Consul Bremmers opposition to democratic elections in that country as it would impinge on his ability to continue to steal Oil and his current bloody crackdown on the Iraqi population both Sunni and Shiite.

    No to War – Australia believes that it is those who profer simplistic rationales for War that are actually those who are truly evil – be they George W Bush, Tony Blair, John Howard and their allies or be it Osama Bin Laden and his fanatics.

    What is important is for all good people living both in the Middle East and other parts of the Muslim World and those of us living in the Western nations to stand up against these maniacs or we may find ourselves embroiled in a quasi religious war that could last for decades.
